Yes! Cats can be trained. They can be taught house manners, just as dogs can. And they can be taught little tricks and "obedience" commands, as well. Of course, we'd never call it obedience when talking about cats. SHHHH! They hear that and that will be the end of any talk of cat training.

I love watching my cats play! They have a couple of favorite toys: empty cardboard boxes of any size/shape, and tiny toy mice. They love boxes for sleeping on or in, for hiding, jumping in and out of, and for scratching posts. Only one of my 4 uses a real scratching post, and the rest use cardboard boxes -- their choice. My 13 yr old cat, Lacy, died today(October 12, 2008). Somehow she got some stretchy stuff around her neck very tight and it strangled her. I don't know how, as I was asleep. People always want to know why I 'need' to have 'so many' cats.  This is true, whether I have 2 cats at the time -- or 8.  I say they just have not gotten to know even one cat, or they would not ask such a silly question.
